| Campers |
 |
Our campers are girls ages 7-15. We have many first time campers each summer, as well as many who return year after year. For the most part, our campers come from the NY/NJ metropolitan area. Our girls come from diverse backgrounds, but form a close-knit community of approximately 100 campers for each two week session.

| Staff |
| Each summer our staff is carefully chosen for their enthusiasm, talent, and dedication. They are experts at making camp life exciting. Many of our counselors are former Ma-He-Tu campers themselves.

| Our Facilities |
 |
Our Dining Hall sits on a hill overlooking the lake. Meals are served family style; six campers and a counselor to each table. To supplement a well-balanced menu, there is plenty to choose from at the cereal bar (breakfast) and salad bar (lunch and dinner).
Our large enclosed Rec Hall is the perfect place for indoor activities, complete with a stage, ping-pong tables, and a fireplace. The court outside is a great spot for volleyball, basketball, and other outdoor games. It is a favorite gathering place during campers’ free time and for camp-wide activities.
|
|
Our youngest campers live in large, screened-in cabins with one counselor per seven girls. Several smaller cabins house up to six campers with a counselor. Our oldest campers live in platform tents that hold five girls and one counselor each.
Our facilities also include a low ropes course, waterfront, boathouse, arts & crafts cabin, archery field, playing field, chapel, infirmary, tennis court, nature tent and campfire circles.

| Board of Directors |
| Camp Ma-He-Tu is organized by a volunteer board of directors. The board consists of about 30 members who work year-round to improve the camp facility and program. Many board members were once campers and staff members at Ma-He-Tu. You can view a list of our current board of directors here. Contact information is also listed for committee chairpersons. |
|
| History |
| Camp Ma-He-Tu first opened in 1937. Every summer since then Ma-He-Tu has been giving young girls incredible summer experiences. While Camp Ma-He-Tu has seen changes over the years, many traditions, even some from that first summer, are still alive today. |
