Making Memories for 80+ years!!!
Camp Ma-He-Tu was founded in 1937. Since then we have remained on the same site in Harriman State Park, Bear Mountain, NY. We have a long tradition of providing young women with an outdoor experience that incorporates a variety of activities but focuses on individual growth and development.

Empowering Young Women and
Creating A Positive Impact
Camp Ma-He-Tu was founded in 1937, we have remained on the same site in Harriman State Park. The Camp Ma-He-Tu of today and tomorrow reflects diversity through our campers and staff from various cultural, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds. Our mission is to create a nurturing camp environment where young women develop essential life skills as they navigate through their adolescent years.
Throughout our history, Ma-He-Tu has always reflected the principle that good GREAT things happen when kids are having fun! It’s amazing how universal that concept has proven to be. From our camper testimonies, below are some of the exciting activities and memories that have been part of the Ma-He-Tu experience since 1937 and we anticipate will be enjoyed by Ma-He-Tu girls for many years to come.
Ma-He-Tu blends tradition and innovation by keeping current with new trends and ideas that meet the expectations of today's camper. We treasure our camp songs around the campfire and delight in our new zip line and ropes course.
Camp Ma-He-Tu is funded entirely by the tuition received from the campers, the generosity of friends, and scholarship and grant money. Our fundraising initiative, Keep the Campfires Burning, helps offset the operating costs of camp and send girls to camp who otherwise may not have been able to.
